What book is dinner for schmucks based on?

Answer:
The movie "Dinner for Schucks is based on the book "Doctor Fisher of Geneva - or - The Bomb Party. In that book a wealthy Swiss millionaire invites his "toads" to fabulous dinners for the purpose of exposing their greed. In the movie Paul Rudd's greed at wanting a promotion leads him to invite Steve Carrall to a "Dinner of idiots" in which all those working for the boss "Fender" (sounds a bit like Fischer no?) try to meet and invite to dinner the most exceptional idiot they can in order to win the bosses favour. In the movie they also throw in a wealthy Swiss Millionaire named Mueller whom Rudd tries to get to invest in Fender financial. He initially makes contact with the Swiss millionaire by sending a decomissioned bomb from WWI (made by Mueller's company many years back). Mueller also gets his finger cut off in the movie and in the book the main character has lost a hand. A lot of parallels. The book itself is very short and like all Graham Greene books exceptionally well written. Amazingly Hollywood did a good job of making this a very funny and not too cheesy or predicatable movie. There is also a movie based exactly on the book called "The Bomb Party"
