As and avid reader of young adult books, here are a few of my favorites:

"Xoe" by Sara C. Roethle
"Twilight" and the rest of the saga by Stephanie Meyer
"Vampire Diaries" by L.J. Smith
"Cirque Du Freak" and "Demonata" series by Darren Shan

I personally do not think a kid should read most of those books. Vampires are stupid and cirque du freak is very gorie. A peron's arm gets ripped of. I recommend a new book called Hero, By Mike lupica and its not about sports.
