Let me revise the question, I wish to convert my vinyl music albums to digital. What hardware and software is needed and recommended knowing that I already have the computer.

i did this same thing. you need a digital scanner. thats all just put the photos in, scan them as a jpg file and store them, review them with any photo software. mine was free from someone with no software so i hooked it up and downloaded the driver from hp and have been scanning ever since.
