You must use AFT-Z1. The part number is CA66689. If you use Dexron III a friction modifier additive must be used with it such as Lubeguard or Kleenflo Platinum. This will help change the chemical nature of the Dex III so that it acts like Z1. Dex III by itself will cause damage to the transmission in a 1999 Honda accord. Honda used Dex III in transmissions built up to 1995, but after that they redesigned the transmissions and switched to their own fluid so be careful.
manual ,sae 10w 30-40 ,auto, dexron ll
Honda originally specified Dexron II for that transmission. Dexron II no longer exists, as it was later superceded by Dexron III. So, use Dexron III. You will frequently see bottles of ATF that say "Dexron III/Mercon" or "Dex/Merc" for short. That's the stuff to use.
The type ofATF is usuaaly stamped somewhere on the dipstick. Mine takes Dexron and it is stamped on the head of the dipstick. I had to clean it to read it though.
It depends on if it is a manual transaxle or an automatic transaxle. If it is a manual transaxle, you can use any SG-rated 5W30 motor oil. If it is an automatic transaxle, then you need DEXRON II Automatic Transmission Fluid.
where is the transmission relay on a 1999 Honda Accord
Use only genuine Honda ATF-Z1. Do not use any other fluid including Dexron which some fools will tell you to use. Dexron can only be used in an emergency and then must be removed ASAP. Any other fluid will cause hard shifting.
yes
how do you take out a transmission on a 1990 Honda accord
Yes, you can use synthetic, conventional, or a mix of the two.
where do you add the transmission fluid in a 1996 Honda accord 4 cylinderAnswerwhere do you add the transmission fluid in a 1996 Honda accord 4 cylinder
On a manual transmission it takes 10w30 motor oil I know it sounds strange but that's what it is. The above answer is correct for the manual transmission and I would recommend you use Synthetic SAE 10w30 oil. But, use only genuine Honda ATF-Z1 automatic transmission fluid in your Accord with A/T. Do not use any substitute or universal fluid or you will experience shifting problems.
there is no transmission pan on the 1993 accord it has a sealed case
