I heard that we should stay clear of citrus while menstruating. The acid from Orange Juice, lemons, etc can aggravate menstrual cramps. I think it's true.i think, you cant eat anything pickled,because the vinegar well do something bad to your body when on your period.

i agree with the part that you should not eat anything pickled, but every morning when i have my cramps, i always drink orange juice, and i can understand why people may think it will set off your cramps, but maybe it doesnt for some people. Id advise people not too eat chocolate or any other sugary foods, this includes banananas. Nobody can quite understand why you shouldn't eat banananas but they do contain sugar so that might be why. Id advise to drink alot off water and eat mainly fruit and vegatables, also try and stay away from dairy products as some people say that makes them worse, but for others it may not be..

You can eat anything you want. Some get a upset stomach and diarrhea or constipated so they have to adjust to that. Apart form that there are no restrictions.

I wouldn't eat anything with alcohol, such as sodas and chocolate. Eat little sugar and little sodium. If you have a potassium deficiency, bananas are a good thing to eat, but if that is not the problem, then dont eat to many, because they can cause cramps. Basically get all your basic vitamins, drink lots of water, and eat healthy.

You can eat anything you want. Some get a upset stomach and diarrhea or constipated so they have to adjust to that. Apart form that there are no restrictions.

Ughhh, don't even know where to start.

Well for starters u shouldn't be eating any salt,

its like a sponge it will soak up all the water inside of your body.

And well you need lots of water during that time of the month!!

usually 5-8 cups of water a day and not all at one time, throughout the day.

No Caffeine it will just make u feel more crampy then before. And when i say no caffeine that means like, Coffee, chocolate, any tea with caffeine, and most colas have caffeine, so i would stay away from most brown colas.

Also you should be eating ALOT of fruits and veggies they aren't just good for you they also give u the moisture that u need during that time.

NO JUNK FOOD, But if you are craving some chocolate grab a Hershey's kiss instead of a big candy bar :)

There's nothing you CAN'T eat on your period, as long as you do not have an allergy or problem with it any other time. If you have very bad cramps, then take ibuprofen or acetaminophen, and if you have cramps AND bloating, then take Midol.

Caffeine is a diuretic, so coffee will actually help get rid of the bloating. It will not make it worse. Excessive amounts of salt will indeed cause you to retain water and become bloated, but that is true every day of the month, not just when you are on your period.

If you have heavy bleeding, foods that are high in iron like dark greens will help you maintain a healthy amount of red blood cells. This may also help you get a little bit of an energy bump.

If you find that cutting certain foods out of your diet helps relieve your PMS, then great. But don't think you are going to magically get PMS if you eat fatty foods, salt, sugar, and caffeine. There is no food that is dangerous or unhealthy to eat on your period.

i only know about drinks, if u r on your period u should not drink any soft drink such as coke, malt and u should not take blood tonic

Its not bad to eat on your period. in fact most girls throw their diets out the window when they are on their periods because they don't care during that time. Plus if you don't eat for however long you period is, it could be bad for your health
