Can mean you have really skinny hands. Can mean you have very thin skin. This can happen if you work out. Also was there anything that was putting pressure on the vein? once the pressure is taken off it will make the vein temporarily stick out.

I thought I would answer this since I have had vein pain in the past along with many other health problems and when I searched for answers, I did not find what I needed.

Your vein pain could simply be a problem with one vein or varicose veins.......which can be fixed by a doctor.

Your vein pain could be a case of internal bleeding if there was any external trauma (car accident) or severe pressure injury......and should be checked immediately by the nearest ER.

However...... if you are not feeling 100% and you are experiencing vein pain (vein itching or sharp vein pains).....you could be having lots of silent damage being done to the veins and arteries in your body. If damage is being done to veins in one area, vascular problems could be widespread. It may not show up on blood tests.....CRP and inflammation markers.....my damage did not. Many blood tests do not uncover anything until extreme damage has already been done.

Please check your cholesterol levels. It may or may not be high at this point. I check my blood via labs regularly (but I am a chemistry teacher with the knowledge of what to look for).

Results are emailed that clearly indictate if anything is showing abnormal on the test your requested. If abnormal, they tell you to follow-up with a medical doctor. But again, it is very dangerous to not consult with a doctor for any problem you are experiencing.

As for cholesterol, it usually takes damage done for quite some time for cholesterol levels to be higher than normal...so just because blood tests may say in the normal range, does not mean everything is always fine.

Please be aware that 60% of the vitamin C that a normal healthy person takes goes to repairing the veins/arteries. People with vaccular damage (the ones having vein pain) need enormous amounts to repair all the extra damage. Powder vitamin C can easily be taken and mixed into your drinks. I take around 8000 milligrams of vitamin C.

You can not overdose on Vitamin C. It is found in Oranges or other fruits if you can find them.

What you have may be what is called phlebitis. Again you need to find out what is causing it.

You can never be too sure, it could be anything. It's pinched nerve if it feels like a rubber band pinching, but for just plain hurting you should get it checked out at the Doc.
