Yes, he can go to jail for statutory rape of a minor. The 18-year old is considered a legal adult in most states including Minnesota, the 14-year old is a minor and beneath the age of engaging in consensual sex in ALL states. Therefore, the adult male could be charged with numerous crimes including but not limited to statutory rape, which is a high priority felony in all 50 states and punishable by mandatory incarceration. Other charges that could arise are corruption of the morals of a minor, coercion and/or intimidation of an underage person, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and several other felony and/or misdemeanor charges. In most states there is an age limit or other wise known as the age of consent. She just happens to be 14yrs old and the age of consent in Minnesota is 16 yrs old. If the male is 18yrs old and has sexual intercourse with this minor then there is a deffinate chance that he can go to jail but in this case it would probably be prison. There is an upside though, if both the 14yr olds parents and the 18yr olds partents approve of the two being together than their should be no problem with the law. If this is the total opposite than he is in BIG trouble. GOO LUCK
