What can i do to save my iPod it went through the wash and i don't know what to do?

I know that your first instinct would be to try to turn it on, but don't do that, or you will fry the circuits inside if the iPod is still wet. Get a plastic zip-lock bag or a sealing tupperware-type container, fill it with dry rice, and put your iPod inside. Leave it in there for at least a week to make sure that all the water has been absorbed. Depending on how wet the iPod was to begin with, you might want to change the rice one or two times.
If after a week it is working, great! If not, don't give up hope. Sometimes an iPod just needs up to a month to recover and start working again.
When you are ready to start using it again don't forget to charge it, as if the screen won't turn on it may be because it is out of battery, not because of water damage.
