What can you do if you keep getting sidetracked when you are meant to be writing your story?

- Turn off the internet! Even having it in the background is distracting, according to published authors. If you need to do research, you can always stop writing and boot the internet back up.
- Turn off the phone, television, and anything else that's making noise to distract you. You may try leaving music on, but if you still get sidetracked, you'll have to get rid of that too.
- Set a timer. Write for 10-15 minutes, then take a short break and stretch, get something to drink, whatever. Then get back to writing.

Writing should be about conveying a message, story, persusasion, research, or any kind of written vow. Writing should be about communication, getting your point across. It shouldn't be about putting words on paper. Writing was meant to paint a picture for the mind. Writing was created by the people that couldn't draw as an alternative in the link of communication.
