Once you hurt someone deeply it's hard for them to get over the hurt and perhaps he's afraid that you'll do it again. Communication is the key here. Meet with him somewhere and apologize. Tell him people aren't 100% perfect and you realize what you did really hurt him and tell him why you hurt him. Mean it! He'll have to be the judge of whether you are worth taking back. If he does, then I suggest you learn your lesson well .... think before you open your mouth!
