It depends on where to some extent, but the first thing to do is to get a doctor's diagnosis to find out what the best treatment will be. In most cases it is safe to use RICE, Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. Once the initial inflammation has subsided, you could do contrast packs which are alternating hot and cold applications that are used in hydrotherapy. Once it settles down even more, it might be helpful to massage the muscle involved to relieve the tension they are putting on the tendons.

I recommend that you find a doctor or chiropractor that specializes in sports injuries. Then for a massage therapist I suggest you contact the AMTA, American Massage Therapy Association.
