Beards are easy, don't shave! there isn't to much to growing the beard, the work comes in when you decide how you want it to look. Trimming can be a nightmare but, well selected facial hair can add that certain something to a face. Also something to consider is some people just are not hairy enough for a proper beard, if this is you, you might find that perhaps a mustache or goatee is more to your likening.

Simply put, stop shaving.

Growing a beard can take up to four weeks and requires a lot of patience (not to mention self-control when it gets itchy). Over time, your beard hair will be come softer and less itchy, so be patient.

Other tips:

- Rub a combination of honey lemon and sugar deep into your pores. Do this treatment everyday for two weeks and you will begin to notice significant facial hair growth.

You get a thick beard by shaving too much. The more that you shave the thicker it gets.

facial hair distribution like hair on the head is genetically determined and shaving constantly will not increase beard thickness unless you have the genes for it.

Although genetics play a major role in how your facial hair appears, whether your beard is patchy or full, there are some things you can do to help it along and promote your best beard growth and fullness. It may be helpful to know that generally the first couple weeks of growing a beard are the toughest. As new hair follicles emerge, skin can become itchy and uncomfortable. Appling a hydrocortisone cream to the area will help alleviate the itch and irritation. Exfoliate your skin to slough off dead skin cells that can clog pores and slow beard growth. After cleansing your face, always follow up with a moisturizer to rehydrate and soften your skin and beard. Your beard is nourished from within, so make a resolution to eat healthy, exercise regularly, reduce stress, and get enough sleep. These may be the most significant steps you can take to increasing beard growth and vitality. Since hair is 97% protein, be sure to include healthy proteins in your diet from eggs, fish, meat, nuts and plenty of omega 3's. There hasn't been strong evidence to date that taking Vitamins and Supplements result in better hair or faster beard growth. However, if your diet is lacking in essential vitamins and nutrients, or you question whether you could benefit from supplements, give a call to your doctor for your best personal advice. Since your beard is nourished by your blood, a regular facial massage is an excellent way to increase blood flow to the hair follicles. Lightly massaging your face for 3 to 5 minutes a day will increase circulation for a healthier beard and more vibrant growth. Beard oil is perfect for adding shine and softness to your beard while hydrating skin underneath that can otherwise become dry and flaky.

This depends. If you have reached puberty then you will start to grow hair where you haven't been able to before. This mainly on the legs, arms, in the armpits, around the genitals and on the face. Not every teen-boy will be able to grow a full beard though. Asian and Middle-Eastern males are more likely to be able to grow full beards quicker than European, American males. But generally once an adult you can grow a beard. You just don't shave until you have reached the desired effect. You can trim your beard at any length then.

The thickness of facial hair is usually a hereditary thing. Starting to shave as soon as facial hair begins to grow is a good way to start training the hair to grow thicker.
