What car has the most comfortable passenger seat? In: Car Buying |
Audi and BMW seem to have the most comfortable front seats. On long trips, or just short drives there is no substitute. In addition, Mercedes also has good seats. The Germans generally have good seating designs in these brands.
Cadillac - simple - The seat is generally a massive box-spring style seat with a \"pillow top\" of sorts, quite often, depends on the model.
A 2002 Nissan Sentra has a very comfortable passenger seat.
Answer
There have been various recommendations from different WikiAnswers Contributors. Here are some opinions on the most comfortable seats:
- The Cadillac Seville.
- Volvo has the most comfortable seats I've sat in. Our Volvos are nine and ten years old each and the seats are still extremely comfortable.
- Stay away from SUVs. An "SUV" by definition is a truck. Trucks drive like trucks. American Vehicles have always favored "Passenger separation" from the Road versus European Vehicles which sought to interract more with outside conditions. Big Lincolns and Cadillacs floated down the road and had seats that were as comfortable as any Fine Couch or Leather Chair in your living room. If you must have an SUV the Lincoln Navigator or an Ford Expedition.
- I agree, the Lincolns and Cadillacs are the way to go for comfort, but for a more economical choice for car comfort: the Buick Century. I drive the Buick on all long distance trips. "Comfortable" is the most often used adjective I hear from people who have rented the Buick Century on vacation. Appearantly its a popular car at the rental places. You might try renting one for a day trip to check it out.
- If the discomfort is serious you might search the web for custom car seats and look at those. You can buy custom seats for almost any car and have tose fitted instead of the manufacturers seat. This is rare in the US, more common in Europe. When you sell the car you can take the seat out and replace with the oiginal. Recaro is one make I know of. Some of these special seats have inflatable lumbar support, lateral thigh support etc. Against intuition the soft seats are usually not as good for long term comfort as a firm, supportve seat. Another alternative, much cheaper is to buy a seat insert (I'm not sure what they are properly called??) that fits on the current seat and provides firmer seating, usually ventilation - and depending on model good lumbar and sideways support. Trucking web sites also have good info - those guys live in their seats and have to have the best.
- I've owned several different makes and models of cars in my former life as a salesman employed by several dealership. There are many cars with "comfortable" seats out there but if you want the one make that stands out in my mind as head and shoulders above the rest, it is Saab. It is the only car I have ever driven where I would consider having its seats in my living room.
- Buick LaSabre has always been our choice for comfort. These will not be made in 2006. Have had Cads, etc. How does the Hyundai XG350 compare for comfort, seems to have most bang for the buck.
- I personally can't stand the LeSabres seats. They are very soft and plush, but there is literally no support. It makes you sit like old lady, hunched over. Volvo is #1 in my opinion. Saab, Ford Focus, Corvette (extremely supportive) are all I wouldn't mind driving 10 hours at a time in.
- I believe the most comfortable car seat is a full sized GMC truck; in particular I like the 1998 Sierra.
- By far and away the answer would be Peugoet 505.
- While it's true that an SUV is by "species" a truck, I have found no more comfortable seat than that of a Lincoln Navigator. I have severe chronic lower back pain and am always in search of a more comfortable car seat option. I'm tired of driving the behemoth Navigator, but have yet to find a comfortable alternative. I have tried: Mercedes: seats are hard and ride is rough; out of the question ... Toyota 4Runner: too rough a ride and too hard of steering ... Jaguar: beautiful car and would love to have one but the driver seat actually has a sort of "lip" that flips upward on the edge and makes it harder for someone with back problems to enter and exit the car -- it's like a barrier of sorts ... Volvo sedan: a possibility; more comfortable than the others, for sure, although my physical therapist says I'm better off in an SUV than a sedan.
- The volvo s80 has the best seats for tall people together with bmw 7
- SUV/trucks, cars, vans have different comfort zones depending in which car model. Toyota provides great vans but Mercedez MB 1000 is most comfortable. SUV/trucks, there are lots of options depending on the budget that one has. One can opt for the F series provided by Ford and comfort is ensured. In cars, of course sedans are most luxurious and Mercedez or Bentley are the major options for this.
