Maximilian Kolbe gave his life for a Jewish man as a prisoner escaped in the Concentration Camp and the Nazis said they would kill 10 prisoners for it. When the man was chosen, he screamed, "My wife, my children! I shall never see them again!" and Father Kolbe offered himself for the man.
