could be the motor mounts, or a misfire while driving that feels like a "bucking"... To check a mount, open the hood, and apply the brakes while trying to drive forward and backwards... the engine will move when you do this, and see if it trys to "jump" out of the engine compartment. then see which mount its trying to "lift off" of...thats the broken mount. they're not too hard to change, but you'll want to read a manual to make certain you do it right. if you don't have a mount problem, make certain the plugs and wires are ok. A misfire can and does often feel like a "Jerk" or "Thumping" etc.. Good luck, and if this doesn't help, send me a more detailed description of when it happens etc... Dave cartalk@fastmail.fm
