== == First, check the simple stuff # oil pan gasket is starting to go # oil filter came lose # oil pan drain plug came lose or the seal around it

I had this problem with my 1997 neon, initially it appeared to be the front crankshaft seal as it was leaking on the passenger's side. I ended up pulling everything apart and realized it wasn't leaking from the seal.

It turned out to the valve cover was leaking, some dried sealant had caused small opening under the valve cover that allowed oil to leak out.

I would guess this is fairly rare, but it's not too bad to check. Usually oil would leak most when the engine had been running for a few minutes.
