There are two reasons I can think of off the top of my head:
1. Engine oil gets low and the internal temperatures in the engine begin to rise and the rods are subjected to higher temperatures which go pass design tolerances.
2. Also, low oil levels allow friction to build up to a point where a rod failure is inevitable.
It all boils down to poor maintenance.
And engine knock is normally caused but I worn crankshaft bearing or rod bearing.
If the car is on and the knocking seems to be coming from around the engine, then the engine could be low on oil. You need to put oil in it immediately or run the risk of ruining your engine. You also could have a stuck valve or maybe your rod is knocking the rod will knock due to improper o ring around it which doesnt give you very good seal inside of a piston.
Too much oil in your car will not cause it to throw a rod. Too much oil in the engine will create a higher than normal engine pressure and can cause the engine seals to fail.
Usually, yes. A broken rod normally damages the engine block making repair impossible.Usually, yes. A broken rod normally damages the engine block making repair impossible.
A bad engine rod is an engine rod that has misbeheaved.
Yes.
It is probably a broken valve spring.
Knocking is usually associated with worn main and rod bearings.
Excessive engine RPM....low oil level.....engine component wear/stess/fatigue ....over heating....
Ask this question again as "How do you rebuild the engine in a 1994 Camry with _____ engine?" replacing _____ with the specific engine in your car.
It means the engine is trashed. More than likely the damage done is catastrophic and the engine is not worth rebuilding.
Could be a rod knock. Your bearings slipping in the engine.
