There are a number of reasons why one might get white bumps or lesions on the tongue. It can be a simple irritation caused by a cut, dehydration, or a bad reaction to something you ate. A more severe cause could be Leukoplakia, where white lesions can possibly be precancerous. Sometimes people with HIV may develop white areas on the tongue as well. If it lasts for more that a week i would consult with a doctor.

Answer
