there are a couple of different problems that will cause bad fuel mileage. i also had the same problem. first i replaced air filter, still getting low mpg. then the pcv valve. after this didnt help i took it to a dealer and had the fuel system cleaned and found out the cat. con. was bad as well. the cos t of filter about $20 pcv was $12 and the fuel system cleaning and the cat. con was $350 filter and pcv was easy to do. when they clean the fuel system they clean the injectors the fuel rail and the throttle body be sure that you have them change the oil or that you do it after they work on it. i had noticed that my oil smelled like fuel after they did it and fuel in the oil will hurt your engine. new plugs and wire wont hurt it, unforturatley GM says that your engine needs platinum plugs for best spark they can run as much as $8 each. good luck
