if you dont fertilize your plants- use miracle grow about every other week or every week. if you fertilize your plants too much your plants will turn yellow from the pH of your water also. fertilizer is supposed to help balance that. buy some pH testing strips, you can buy them in the pool sections for testing pool water. do some research to find out what kind of pH your plant likes and adjust accordingly
