What causes lower left quadrant pain?

Answer:
A continuous or intermittent sharp pain on the lower left side in a female could indicate an ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside the womb such as in the Fallopian tube), ovarian cyst and other things. Either way, if it is not gas, all sharp pains for females should be investigated by your physician. If you think you could be pregnant go to an ER NOW. If it ruptures you may bleed to death.

Males and females can have lower left quadrant pain due to diverticulitis/perforation, obstruction, strangulation and other conditions.
