The word menstruation comes from Latin referring to the moon. Both, for some reason, are on a 28-day cycle. If you have a month with more than 28 days, you could have, well, two full moons...or cramps and bloating twice within the month. One early and one late. That is called a "blue moon" but you might call the extra period something less poetic.

I don't exactly know the answer but I'm the same way. It annoying. I think it just means your cycle is different then everyone elses. I also heard if that is the case u can only get pregnant while your on your period. Don't know if I believe that. I guess it would be because since you get it every two weeks you would be ovulating while your on your period ... guess it makes sense but I'm pregnant and I dont recall having sex when I had my last period but at the same time I might have.

A normal period should only occur once a month. This could be due to a number of reasons such as a missed miscarriage, cancer, STDs, or even just an abnormal cycle.

Bodies aren't clockwork-perfect, and can fall out of synch for whatever reasons. This is also why counting days and "safe periods" aren't reliable as contraceptives.

This means that you are irregular. This is typically in the beginning of your menstruation and should end by the end of the first year.

Can you get your period twice in one month?

Yes, you can get your period twice in one month if you have an average or shorter than average menstrual cycle. For example the average menstrual cycle is 28 days, so you may see your period on the first of the month and then get it again on the twenty-ninth of the month. Bare in mind that not all vaginal bleeding is menstruation, bleeding may be caused by other issues like hormonal imbalance, implantation bleeding, ovulation bleeding, STD's or vaginal tissue damage.

What does it mean when you come on your period twice in one month?

It means just that - you came on your period twice in one month - it's no more complicated than that. If this was your period, and not your period plus some other vaginal bleeding caused by something else, then it is normal to bleed twice in one month occasionally. The average menstrual cycle is 28 days and as most months have more than 28 days if your cycle is this long or shorter you will see yourself bleeding twice in some months.

Is it normal for a 13yr old to have her period twice a month?

Yes, this is completely normal. Firstly when you menstruate doesn't relate to the calendar, when your period is due is determined by your menstrual cycle - the average menstrual cycle is 28 days but many women's cycles can be shorter, for example if you had a 20 day menstrual cycle you may menstruate on the 1st of the month and then again on the 20th of the month. Secondly, irregular cycles are completely normal in your teens so this can result in you menstruating more often or less often than is normal - it takes time for the body to get into a regular pattern, so don't expect regular cycles until you're an adult.

Can a woman ovulate twice before her next period?

Yes, a woman can ovulate twice during her menstrual cycle but it would still be during the ovulation phase of her menstrual cycle. A woman cannot just randomly ovulate, her menstrual cycle controls when she ovulates - typically women will ovulate two weeks before menstruation. To correct a previous answer: Orgasm does not cause ovulation, that's not biologically possible.
