Mist is performed by fine droplets of liquid in a gas... so an example would be in the shower when their is white steam coming out which is basically mist.

the persin at the top is sooo WRONG. steam and mist are NOT the same.

The cooling of air with water particles in the air would cause mist.

Assuming that the mist is water: You need liquid water at the right range of temperature, and the right combination of ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure.

Outdoor mist is actually a low-lying cloud. It forms when the air is too cold to keep its moisture in the form of vapor. Or when moist warm air meets cold air.

How long does a top freezer-refrigerator take to make ice cubes?

It took about 5 hours to get the 1st cubes

Why do rivers and lakes not freeze easily?

While water is moving, its temperatue can drop below zero and it doesn't freeze. Obviously, faster moving rivers are less likely to freeze. For lakes, water's unique density behaviour protects them from freezing. Unlike almost all substances, the solid form of water (ice) is less dense than the liquid form. Ice cubes float. (For almost all other substances, the "cubes" would sink.) So when lakes freeze, the ice stays at the top. This insulates the remaining water from the colder air above. If ice cubes sank, then lakes could freeze all the way to the bottom: the ice that formed would fall to the bottom, continually exposing the top water to the cold air.

Ice cubes float at the top of a glass of water What does this tell you about the density of ice compared to the density of water?

icecubes are less dense than water because when water freezes it expands giving it greater volume but the same mass

Why does my ice melt in my soda?

Pure water ice cubes always float. They float because the molecules of water rearrange into a crystalline shape when they freeze. That arrangement leaves more empty space between the molecules of water which reduces the density of the water in ice form. Lower density objects float on higher density liquids.

How do kame form?

Kames form when stream cascade off the top of ice sheets and onto bare ground dropping sediment in the process

Why do ice cubes sink but when you drink the water they rise to the top?

Ice cubes don't sink in water, as the density of an ice cube is less than the density of water.

Why doesn't ice float?

Ice does float, but if you put in multiple ice cubes, the ice cubes underneath can't push up over and on top, so it looks like they're floating in the middle of the glass.

Where does a drink become coldest first when you put ice cubes in it?

The top because you throw on the top first.

Why do ice cubes always float a the top of the glass of water?

Ice is less dense than water and will float on water.

Why does red melted ice cubes stay on top of salt water?

It's not the color that is significant, its the fresh water that the ice cubes were made with. Salt water is heavier than fresh water so the fresh water floats a top the salt water.

Why is there smoke on the top of an ice tray immediately taken from a freezer?

What you see is not smoke; it is mist. When you pull the ice cube tray out, a bit of air from the freezer comes with it. This air chills the room temperature air to below freezing, causing the moisture in it to form microscopic ice crystals.

What happens if you leave an ice cube out of the freezer?

The ice cubes will melt.Ice cubes are small, roughly cube-shaped pieces of ice, conventionally used to cool beverages. Ice cubes are often preferred over crushed ice because they melt more slowly; they are standard in mixed drinks that call for ice, in which case the drink is said to be "on the rocks."Ice cubes are produced domestically by filling an ice cube tray with water and placing it in a freezer. Many freezers also come equipped with an icemaker, which produces ice cubes automatically and stores them in a bin from which they can be dispensed directly into a glass. Ice cubes out of a tray are generally longer and thinner, requiring less force to remove them from the tray and thereby reducing the likelihood of the cube becoming stuck in the dispenser. There are also dedicated ice-maker machines used to produce ice cubes for laboratories and academic use. Ice cubes are also produced commercially and sold in bulk; these ice cubes, despite their name, are often cylindrical, and may have holes through the center. An interesting characteristic of commercially made ice cubes is that they are completely clear, lacking the clouding found in the center of domestically made ice cubes.Cloudy ice cubes result when water is frozen quickly, or when the water is high in dissolved solids. When water is cooled to its freezing point, and ice starts to form, dissolved gases can no longer stay in solution and come out as microscopic bubbles. However, as ice floats in water, once there is enough ice to form a layer on the surface, the ice layer traps all bubbles within the ice cube. Commercial ice-makers use a flowing source of purified water to make ice with cooling elements at the bottom, allowing the bubbles to be washed away from the top as the cube grows.Melting ice cubes sometimes precipitate white flakes, commonly known as "floaties". This is calcium carbonate which is present in many water supplies and is completely harmless.[citation needed]Ice cubes can also be crushed or sheared into irregularly-shaped flakes, adding an interesting aesthetic effect to some cocktails. Crushed ice is also used when faster cooling is desired, since the rate of cooling is governed by the number and average radius of the ice particles
