Burning "rib pain" can indicate a common condition known as costochondritis --- an inflammation of the costal (rib) cartilage. It can be caused by strain or injury to the rib cage. Since the question is specifically about the right side pain, once the costal cartilage inflammation is ruled out, other considerations need to be made. It is quite common to experience pain in that area that can be caused by an internal organ problem. The innervation of abdominal organs is very unique, and internal organ disorders can be manifested via external pain. For example, gallbladder inflammation or gallstones can cause pain in the right costal ridge or even right shoulder. Statistically speaking, it is more likely to be simply costochondritis (described previously) and can be treated with NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, like ibuprofen or naproxen) and rest. However, if the symptoms worsen or persist, a medical examination is needed (possibly, tests) to determine and/or exclude potentially more serious conditions of internal abdominal and thoracic organs.

Well it sounds like a pinched nerve.Years ago I had same. it turned out that I had tarsal tunnel syndrome.Which is similar to carpal. Also may be peripheral neuropothy. Common in diabetics but can be "idiopathic" or unknown. Can be isolated to one area of hands & or feet. But, may also appear in face and jaw. Regardless a burning sensation is most likely nerve-based as previously posted.

Yes, caffeine can cause acid reflux. There are medications that can help but reducing caffeine intake might be a good idea.
