Answer
Paranoid is caused by the very thing that causes all mental disorders, INTENSE FEAR. This is caused by many things in the world that are happening today.
The media is a bad influence on people. What used to be light-hearted entertainment which lifted our spirits is now mainly unreal dramatic stories that put all sorts of things in peoples minds. Newspaper journalists may be humourous, but they are extremely critical and advertise many things that play on peoples fears, which probably includes alot of false stories - anything in order to attract attention and make lots of money. On the television, there is still a sense of humour and you have the option to watch whatever you like but i think there should be alot more comedy instead of dramatic emotional shows, which remind us of the bad things we have experiencing in life and less criminal investigation shows which obviously make us feel scared and alone too.
As these things dont comfort people, they look elsewhere for something that makes them feel good. For example, winning peoples approval gives us confidence, buying new clothes and looking after our appearance creates self-esteem, focusing on our careers and succeeding in them makes us feel special, etc.
For some people, they are easy to attain and once we have them they begin to appear set in stone. In this way they are then taken for granted and the feeling of unhappiness creeps back again. This means that people start wondering why they are not happy and start comparing their lives to others to figure out what is wrong with them. As they see other people living happily and can not understand why, they begin to get confused, frustrated, angry and possibly envious. They will then either remain jealous and become obsessed with getting what their "rival" has got or they will receive some support which helps them to understand their situation and become hopeful. If they dont get any support, they will resort to all sorts of bad things in their desperate need and will start to love the power that they have over people, they start to feel superior and become addicted to this feeling and so carry on behaving in this way. Some of the people who act like this eventually get punished in some way as people will not tolerate this behaviour for long. This makes them aware of situations totally out of there control. They then realise they are not the centre of the universe and become so scared that they begin to lie their way out of things. A little bit of paranoia sets in at specific times, as they realise what they have done and if they get found out they may get punished again, they are scared of certain people. There concience is not clear. So they become a little paranoid, in order to protect themselves. Paranoia is a form of protection.
Another possible cause of paranoia.
Some people experience a life full of setbacks, for instance, a really bad time at high school, an unhappy family life, a recurring theme that brings back past bad memories. They will either get support and hope or become deprived, depressed and detached. If they look hard enough they will find hope, however, for some, hope is limited and a pattern may emerge where they will focus their hopes on a certain thing and continue to get let down. If this pattern persists they will find it really hard to carry on with the normal daily activities expected of them. They do not feel very confident about their future, they have been let down so many times that they begin to wonder if there is a light at the end of the tunnel. They will feel extremely alone and scared at times and todays modern addicts will make the situation even worse for them. This may result in paranoia as some people may begin to manipulate them in order to satisfy their craving for success. They do not trust people because they are scared of feeling even worse. In protecting themselves, Paranoia sets in and they will analyse and investigate to find the truth amongst the lies as they have a desperate need for peace of mind. If they do not find hope from somewhere, they may persist and become obsessive. As they try to put the pieces of the puzzle "evidence" together they may not find an answer and become confused, depressed or violent. They may become extremely violent if they are supported a little and then something really bad happens to them which brings back there confusion. Pressures also triggers the bad memories. They will probably find an outlet for there frustrations. They may invent a world that is unreal or based on actual facts in order to cope. This may be the explanation for schizophrenia.
I also believe obsessive compulsive disorder is protecting yourself from a bad experience that will bring back extremely bad memories. They will try to control everything in order to stop it happening again and they will be really nervous when things are out of their control.
I could be wrong with all this, it is just my theory as i have tried to understand why people behave the way they do, this is just what i believe at the moment, but as i remain open-minded this theory may change.
So basically i think what causes paranoia is bad memories that lead to fear. Fear of losing what you have. It is hard not to be afraid these days as there are many things that create low self-esteem, and we have to fight to keep ourselves on the right path, it is not easy but i believe as long as we keep the faith, one way or another, things will work out for the best.
This what I think cause Paranoia
Cause of Paranoia
1) Homosexual fixation: According to Freud, the patient suffering from the disease has pushed away his tendency to homosexual love so much that he develops a fixation about it. Freud's view has been found correct in many cases, but not in all.
2) Feelings of inferiority: Here the psychologists have found that the main cause of paranoia is a sense of inferiority.
3) Emotional complex: Certain psychologist points out emotional complexes, and also believe that they are seen to be present in other mental diseases as also in normal individuals.
4) Personality type: Cameron believes a certain type to be more susceptible to this disease, a personality that has sentimentally, jealousy, suspicion, ambition, selfishness and shyness etc.
5) Heredity: In the opinion of Fisher the main responsibility of paranoia lies fairly and squarely upon heredity, although he does not deny the importance of repression and emotional complexes. The causes of paranoia are not physical because no patient exhibits any signs of physical deformity and among the causes there are many important" ones, such as defects of personality, sense of inferiority, repression etc.
