The sensor light, in the guage cluster, lights up when the Oxygen (O2) Sensor is faulty or bad. It needs to be changed. It is located on the Exhaust manifold on the driver's side of the engine. It's a one wire sensor. Pretty easy to change. If you replace the o2 sensor it will not make the light go off. There are to plug ins in under the dash in the upper right corner.(above the the hood pop lever) One plug in will be yellow and white the other yellow and black. One represents 50,000 miles and the other 100,000 miles. If the truck is over the mileage the indicator will come on. This was so the owner would bring the vehicle in for inspection. Just unplug whatever one is still plugged in and the sensor light will go off.
