Pontiac Heads Up Display problem
I just fixed my wifes heads up display in her 2004 Pontiac GT2. I thought it wasn't working, but realized that if I slumped way down in the seat and looked through the steeringwheel it was projecting. It was just way out of line. A close up look through the front windshield showed a loose spring in the display. When I rocked the car, the spring moved freely. I took the dash apart and pulled out the Heads Up Display.
Upon opening the HUD I noticed that the small plastic piece that held the spring down was broke. I drilled a new hole in some plasic nearby and connected the spring. I put everything back together and it worked perfectly.
It took me about two hours to remove, fix, and install, but i work on cars often. It was a lot easier that I thought it was going to be.
