white tigers live in southern Asia.
Actually,
White Tigers are very, very rare in the wild. In the last 100 years, less than 12 white tigers have been seen in India. You only get one white tiger cub (in the wild) every 10,000 births or so. Other than the rareness of the white coat, white tigers are like other orange tigers, and live where Bengal tigers live, since the gene for a white coat only resides in Bengals.
Now, the white tigers you see in the zoos all come from one white tiger that was captured nearly 60 years ago. The people who bred him inbred the male with his daughters and granddaughters to produce these beautiful tigers we see today.
They are excellent swimmers and their fur keeps them comfortable in hot or cold weather. They live in wet, humid and hot jungles as well as icy cold forests. They also live in zoos where they have special tempertued rooms to keep them comfortable.
