You need a cool blue such as prussian blue or or a lighter cool blue such as cerulean blue depending on the type of olive green you wish to make. Basically blue and yellow make green so if you add a colour from the yellow part of the spectrum you will get some form of green. Try a light orange or a hot yellow to give an olive green. Experiment with different combinations of blue and yellow. If you have already made a basic green with blue and yellow but it is not murky enough to be olive then try adding a little red to it (choose an orangey red not a purpley red).
There is not an exact formula for mixing the color olive green because it varies by the desired shade of olive green and the medium you are mixing. In order to mix colors to create an olive green, you start with green, which is an equal mix of blue and yellow. Then you add more yellow, and a bit of red. Add slowly so that you can see how the color is changing and stop when you are satisfied.
Take a little bit of light brown and mix it with light green. If it turns out to dark, put in a bit of white or more light green. If it turns out to light, put in more brown. Keep on doing this until you have found the right color.
