Why was James Monroe's presidency referred to as the Era of Good Feelings?

-During James Monroe's presidency it was known as the "Era of Good Feelings" because the Americans seemed to be getting along really well. There were also other things that helped contribute to the general feeling of being united, like States beginning to make roads and waterways to make travel and trade easier, the agreement on the making of the second national bank, and the attempt to make Americans buy American goods by placing a tax on imported goods in the year 1816.
