What could a Silver dollar dated 1888 and marked cc be knowing it's not an Asian fake because of it being in possession for over 70years?

Sadly, the coin is a very old fake. The Carson City Mint struck no coins in 1888 so the date as been altered or the Mintmark has been added, I can't see the coin to make an assessment as to which has been done, so I suggest finding a dealer or collector and have them do a evaluation.
