Go back to the basics, fuel, ignition and compression. Check fuel by spraying a small amount of starting fluid into the throttle body while attempting to start the engine. If it briefly starts with the starting fluid, you PROBABLY have a fuel delivery problem. If nothing happens with the starting fluid, check for ignition. Pull one spark plug wire, plug it in to a spare sparkplug and set the plug on a metal part of the engine and attempt to start the engine again. If you have a good, bright spark, run a compression check.
i had same problem on my 94 cutlass supreme...long story short, it was the ignition switch. $300. at shop.
the temp control is not the problem. the air direction switch is most likely to be the problem
It turns your 1992 car off when there is a problem, somethings broken, or it takes up to much of the battery/fuel.
Possibly, try it for 5 minutes. Won't do any good unless you repair the problem. It will just come back on.
Blown fuse?
Rev servo inop for some reason. Takeit to the trans shop.
My '96 is in the shop with the same problem. Bending me over for 400 bucks
Had the same problem a few weeks back.Mileage on 1986 cutlass supreme was close to 400,000 KMS(Canada). Sorry to say transmission needs to be rebuilt.
I have a 90 cutlass supreme. Mine has been going goofy for some time now. If it blacks out, flashes off and on, or shows different readings on fuel gauge, odometer or speedometer then you have problem. I took it out and looked for loose plug wires(1 plug) or cicuits. Found none. Needs replaced. Can sometimes be found on Ebay for cheap price. If so make sure it right one!!!
It means that you need to get the cars computer scanned to find out what the problem is.
If it isn't starting you have another problem.
you would probably assume the battery wasnt the problem. Ask yourself what made you so certain the battery was the problem.
