What could cause swollen posterior cervical lymph gland in child also complaining of needles and pins no obvious cold sore throat etc.?

The most common cause for a swollen lymph node in a child is an infection in the draining area. It need not necessarily be in the throat. Infection over the scalp can also cause this. However if it does not promptly respond to treatment other causes have to be considered.
