Spain. Columbus was Spanish and it is a myth he was from Italy. He wrote in Spanish and was married to a Spanish noble woman. If he had been an Italian map maker he would not have written in Spanish nor would have been married to a noble. Historians believe that his family were rivals of the Spanish court so Columbus took a persona to be able to get the backing he needed for his voyage.
