heat makes ice melt faster because if you put an ice cube on a pan ,turn on the oven, turn it to 50 degrees f ,the ice will melt and if you turn the oven to 212 degrees f the water will start to boil.
The large molecules of paraffin (and there are several different ones) "cling" to each other electromagnetically, similar to butter. They all form a solid at temperatures below about 117°F or so....
