You need a highschool diploma or a GED. Then, you can attend junior college for the basics and find a job with a construction company. The first step is to apprentice, then after a few years, become a journeyman. Working as a laborer can give you insight to the job, but you need to work through the levels of the profession.
There are 2 year degrees in Building Construction offered by community colleges and trade schools.
But once you graduate, your still going to have to start as an apprentice at the same pay grade as a person with no schooling.
I'd recommend you start the apprenticeship first and take the classes you need one at a time at night.
You'll learn the physical skills much quicker in the field then you will in a classroom,
...and they pay you instead of the other way around.
Classes in math, blueprint reading and construction codes are the most important.
You want to take classes in the stuff that they won't have the time to teach you in the field.
If you can get into a trade union, they actually send you to school as part of your apprenticeship at no charge.

Within the United states, the doctorate is the highest level of educational attainment.
the highest degree in a given field. or the maximum qualification that a person has in some specific field is called terminal qualification
There is no highest level. You can always get a higher level of qualification and that won't prevent you from teaching maths. Although minimum levels of qualification are desirable, these depend on the age group that is being taught. An A-level teacher will be expected to have a much higher qualification than someone teaching in an infant school.
A tertiary qualification is a formal qualification obtained from a tertiary institution, that is, an institution that can only be studied in following graduation from high school (secondary education). The most common form of tertiary qualification is a university degree. However there are other forms of tertiary institutions that include technical institutes and colleges - a formal qualification from these counts as tertiary qualification as well.
