No degree, just common sense and a dealers license.

Truly you do not need a degree to open an automobile company. You will however need a dealer's license, cars, and good Accountants. a person has been a car salesman for 20 years - his boss has a 5th grade education - but with great employees and accountants on top of accountants - he is very successful.

Why planning is considered as an important function of management?

Without planning, the organization's goals and objectives cannot be realized on time and within budget. Thus, causes increase in organization's overheads that may results to bankruptcy or cease of operations. Imagine taking a driving vacation without a map, that first day piling into a car and saying you are traveling to the opposite coasts. How will you get there, what direction will you first drive? Then, what changes/adjustments will you have to make along the way? If you don't have theses answers BEFORE you start you will waste a lot of time along the way. In business time is money and opportunity. Have your business road map planned before you start. Review it every month to insure you are on the right roads.

How Management Information System support business process?

Management Information Systems ( management information system) is the study of people, technology, organizations and the relationships among them. MIS professionals help firms realize maximum benefit from investment in personnel, equipment, and business processes. MIS is a people-oriented field with an emphasis on service through technology. If you have an interest in technology and have the desire to use technology to improve people's lives, a degree in MIS may be for you. Businesses use information systems at all levels of operation to collect, process and store data. Management aggregates and disseminates this data in the form of information needed to carry out the daily operations of business. Everyone who works in business, from someone who pays the bills to the person who makes employment decisions, uses information systems. A car dealership could use a computer database to keep track of which products sell best. A retail store might use a computer-based information system to sell products over the Internet. In fact, many (if not most) businesses concentrate on the alignment of management information system with business goals to achieve competitive advantage over other businesses. MIS professionals create information systems for data management (i.e., storing, searching and analyzing data). In addition, they manage various information systems to meet the needs of managers, staff and customers. By working collaboratively with various members of their work group, as well as with their customers and clients, MIS professionals are able to play a key role in areas such as information security, integration and exchange. As an MIS major, you will learn to design, implement and use business information systems in innovative ways to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of your company. A common misconception that MIS only concerns programming. However, programming is just a small part of the MIS curriculum. While programming concepts represent some of the founding concepts and information systems development, implementation and use, many jobs in management information system do not utilize programming at all. A large portion of the management information system degree focuses on data analysis, teamwork, leadership, project management, customer service and underlying business theories. These aspects of the degree are what set the MIS professional apart from a computer science specialist. Maximum rating: - management information system

How is contingency planning different from routine management planning?

Contingency planning is an all-encompassing term meaning making preparations for uncertain future situations (i.e. what we do is literally contingent - depends upon - the situation that actually unfolds). It comprises a suite of techniques designed to identify and minimise risks, largely by preparing for the unexpected. Contingency planning concepts apply to business, IT, political, personal and other situations. Air bags in a car are an example of a contingency measure, while specifying and mandating the use of air bags demonstrates contingency planning.Routine management planning: means preparing to keep the business by identifying risks. Critical business processes are identified and arrangements made to ensure any associated IT services, suppliers etc. are sufficiently resilient and/or have effective Disaster Recovery plans. Critical functions/processes with the IT department typically include IT and network operations plus help/service desk: these typically deserve their own continuity plans.
