Drivers come in numerous lofts, they can range from as little as 7.5o, to as much as 16o. Beginners and high handicappers tend to use lofts from around 10.5 to 13 or so, whereas most amateurs use drivers with 9-10.5o. Professional golfers can use as low as 7 but mostly use drivers ranging from 7-9. Professional long drivers have used drivers with 4o. The loft of any driver is usually on the sole of the club, but beware, the stated loft is not always the actual playing loft.

The higher the degree of loft gives a higher initial launch angle. 8.5 would be low and good for an experienced player. 15 is high would be good for a beginner.

What is the difference between 9 10 11 on golf drivers?

This refers to loft. The higher the loft, the higher the launch angle. It all depends on which shaft you have, but also swing speed and ability. Higher handicappers use high loft drivers to get the ball in the air, and low handicappers use lower lofts to get more distance. Pros would usually use 8-10 degree drivers, with very stiff shafts.

What does the loft in golf do for you?

Loft refers to the angle of the golf club's face from the vertical axis. The loft of a club imparts varying degrees of backspin on the ball, making it fly higher and shorter, as in irons and wedges, or lower and longer, as in woods and drivers. The standard sand wedge has a loft ranging from 52 degrees to more than 60; drivers usually have a loft of around 9-10 degrees.
