Replace the leading 0 of the mobile number you are trying to reach with the UK's country code +44. For example, 07700 900123 becomes +44 7700 900123, including the plus symbol.

(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but North America (USA, Canada, etc.) uses 011, Japan uses 010, Australia uses 0011, and many other countries use different prefixes.)

Dial the International Access Code. From the US this will be 011 (From many other places this will be 00). Next dial the Country Code for the UK. This is 44. Next dial the Mobile Number, remembering to OMIT the leading ZERO if one is shown. That is, if you see 07xxx - xxxxxx then you need to dial 011 44 7xxx xxxxxx.

If you see +44 - 7xxx - xxxxxx then the number is already in the International Format and you just need to dial the International Access Code (011 from the US) in place of the + sign.

Dial the international access prefix 00, followed by the country code +1, followed by the area code and phone number. In America, mobile phones use the same geographic area codes as landline numbers.

If you have a GSM mobile, the best way is to store all the numbers in full international format, starting with the country code (a plus sign with one to three digits). In the case of the United States, as well as Canada and certain Caribbean/nearby islands, the country code is +1. In many (but not all) countries, you must drop the trunk prefix 0 from the beginning of the national number to convert to international format. For example, Liverpool's 0151 becomes +44 151.

(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but North America (USA, Canada, etc.) uses 011, and many other countries use different prefixes.)

Can someone use tex plus Nigeria's code plus 234 to call a roaming phone in the US?

If a Nigerian mobile phone is roaming in the United States (or anywhere else in the world), you can call it by dialing the Nigerian mobile number, beginning with country code +234. Drop the trunk prefix '0' from the beginning of the Nigerian domestic number and replace it with country code +234. If a mobile from anywhere in the world besides Nigeria is roaming in the United States, you cannot reach it by dialing a Nigerian number.
