∙ 6y agoEdgar Allan Poe's natural parents, David Poe Jr and Elizabeth Arnold Hopkins Poe, were both traveling actors for Mr. Placides Theater Company of Boston, Massachusetts. Elizabeth apparently with much more talent than her husband David. David had started out studying law, but, to the chagrin of his family, quit law school to become an actor. Unfortunately, the acting profession in those days did not pay at all well.
