"The Vision" was a book he wrote in the 70's about a literal vision of the future that God gave Mr. Wilkerson while he was praying. The book is controversial in that some of the prophecies he cited as coming "very soon" have not happened yet to date (August 2007). He did not see anything specifically about huge events like 9-11 in New York, nor the flood in New Orleans and other areas of the Southern U.S. If I remember right, among his prophecies that have not come true were that female toplessness would be quickly allowed on U.S. TV, and that marijuana would soon become legal in the United States. He did correctly predict a drug that would promote enhanced sexual behavior (what we now know as Viagra), the free "outing" of homosexuality as acceptable behavior, and that several well-known TV preachers would fall from grace. Many of the things mentioned in Mr. Wilkerson's vision coincided with prophecies from the Book of Revelation in The Bible.

A beatific vision is an individual's external and direct visual interpretation of God.

He was known for his acts of charity, establishing monasteries, and spreading the teachings of Christianity throughout Wales. David lived a life of prayer and simplicity, setting an example of faith and devotion to God.

about faith in god
Sometimes God talks to people through visions. It is one thing to have a vision. It is a different gift to be able to translate what God is saying in those visions. The closer to God that someone is, the clearer the meaning of the vision will become.
