Many slaves in ancient Egypt worked as servants in the houses of the wealthy. They were usually fairly treated, adequately clothed and fed. Remember there were no modern labour saving devices and household jobs had to be done by hand. It was hard graft.

Some slaves were hired as mercenaries in the army.

Many were less fortunate, forced to do humiliating, degrading and often dangerous work such as working on the land, digging canals, building monuments and temples, quarrying and worst of all working in the mines. They were at the mercy of tough overseers. Food was pretty basic. They were usually naked and punished if they didn't work hard enough.

slaves would do hard labor, work, and they eventually could own property, marry, and soon be granted freedom

Most slaves worked in the household of wealthy egyptians. They cooked, served, cleaned, washed clothes, made beer or entertained the family as dancers, musicians and acrobats

An educated slave often enjoyed high status looking after his master's affairs perhaps owning land and slaves himself.

Slaves also served in the army.

Others were not so fortunate. Thousands of naked slaves toiled on the land of a noble or temple, dug canals, built monuments and temples, sweated in the quarries or worst of all in the mines.
