Daniel Shay was a farmer from Massachusetts during the American Revolution. After fighting for his country, he returned home and found that his taxes had not been paid and that his farm was going to be taken away due to this fact. So, he led a group of farmers to take over the local armory. George Washington had to send troops to stop the rebellion; this was when it was realized that a stronger government was needed (state and federal).

Daniel Boone explored some portions of Texas but most of his experiences were in Missouri and Pennsylvania. He also explored much of Kentucky.
