* Best Known As: Author of Conditioned Reflexes(1926)
Ivan Petrovich Pavlov studied medicine in Russia and Germany, accepting posts in St. Petersburg as a professor in pharmacology and physiology. In 1889 Pavlov began experiments with dogs that proved their reflexes could be conditioned by external stimuli. Specifically, after they were conditioned by the ringing of a bell at feeding time, they would reflexively salivate upon hearing the bell, whether or not food was present. In 1904 Pavlov won the Nobel Prize for his work on digestive physiology, but he is most widely known today as an early influence on behavioral psychology.

Ivan Pavlov is known best for his experiments on conditioning. In his most famous experiment, every time he'd feed a dog, he'd ring a bell. Later, when he'd ring the same bell, the dog would salivate, due to the connection the brain had made between the bell and food.
Pavlov was mostly known for his study of classical conditioning. His studies included experiments on the ability to condition dogs to automatically salivate at the ringing of a bell. He did this by initially ringing a bell each time the dog was presented with food. Eventually he was able to remove the food as a factor, and yet the dog would still salivate each time the bell was rung. He termed this "conditional reflex".
A given stimulus can generate a given response.
For example, when the doorbell rings, the dog will bark.
For example, when a dog does a certain action, a certain event happens.
This proved that people and animals can be trained to "expect" a certain response from a certain action, eb]ven if they are in reality unrelated.
He was the first to describe "classical conditioning" as in Pavlov's dog.

conversions of energy is actually the process of a energy being converting into another type of energy. example the chemical potential energy stored in your body as food is converted into heat energy when we rub our hands together. it is because the energy we need to rub our hands come from the food we had eaten.
