Well what people wore then wasn't really much difference to the things we wear today, but the only changes was that when they were in battle they would wear things like padded clothing and armor. x
Well i'm not completely sure. But...well the men taking part in the war from 1060+ the men had cropped hair, their beards shaven, their arms covered in golden bracelets, their skins covered in punctual designs (tatoos) and they wore short garments reaching to the mid-knee.
they mainly wore tunics, mens were short sleeved and knee length, where as womens were long sleeved and long at the knee
ragged clothes. They put on what they wore and what they made.
peasants either wore dirty old ripped rags that smelt or a nice fancy hat and silk clothes if you were rich.
their clothes were made of animals

In the year of 1066
The Battle Of Hastings happened in the year 1066 on the date 14 October.
The fashion in 1066 was rather limited and more formal than casual. Cloaks and tunics were a common fashion item during this era.
I would say Silk, as it was about then that the "Silk Road" was established between Asia and Europe.
