Jehovah's Witnesses, like their leader Jesus, hold that the only government that has the absolute right to the worshipful devotion of the minds, hearts and bodies of people, is the heavenly government ordained by God...God's Kingdom, with Jesus Christ as it's God appointed king.

Daniel 2:44

Logically, when one is a "citizen" of a government that is rightfully above all other governments, and is also dedicated, or devoted, to that government, that personal commitment will clash with other man-made governmental ideologies that expect ones to devote their lives to them.

John 18:36

Jehovah's "Witnesses", no matter where they have been accounted for in the stream of time, often suffer at men's hands because men were not made with the ability to govern themselves successfully apart from their Creators' oversight. Hebrews 12:1

Men throughout history, because of puppet-master like influence from the invisible ruler of the present world order, Satan the Devil, believe they have the right to demand and/or expect godlike devotion from those they rule over. 2 Corinthians 4:4

Obviously one cannot be a faithful citizen of a government that clearly states to 'love your neighbor as yourself', and all that that means in God's mind, verses a human government that claims that devotion to the "state", and it's rules [in regards to killing fellow humans in war], is more important than faithful adherence to God's rulership. Luke 10:25-28

Jehovah's Witnesses suffered in horrific events like the holocaust because, after careful scriptural consideration and personal examination, they commit to the eternally and vastly superior form of government for men's benefit...God's Kingdom rule. That devotion is seen as a threat to men's, and Satan's, ideals for who has the right to universal sovereignty and devotion, thus both men and Satan attempt to silence such ones. Revelation 12:17

In short, one's who are true followers of Jehovah God, by Jesus Christ, love God and all of their "neighbors" so much that suffering for their loves, even to the point of death, with a realistic future ressurection hope in view, is unquestionably more loving and rational than worshipfully supporting temporary human rule, to the death, with eternal death in view. Luke 21:12-19

The simple answer to the question is that Witnesses were sent to Concentration Camps. Unlike every other inmate though, each Witness could walk free by simply signing a statement saying that they would no longer have anything to do with the religion. Very few took this option.

AnswerThe term 'holocaust' usually referss to the extermination of over six million Jews in Nazi Germany and in occupied countries during World War II. As JWs are not Jews, strictly speaking nothing therefore happened to the Jehovah's Witnesses during the Holocaust.

However, along with homosexuals, gypsies and dissidents, thousands of JWs were harshly treated by the Nazis and most ended up in concentration camps, and murdered by the Nazi regime. Despite promises of a reprieve if their faith was denied, most bravely efused to denounce their faith, and ended up dying a martyr's death.
