Jehovah's Witnesses suffered in horrific events like the holocaust because, after careful scriptural consideration and personal examination, they commit to the eternally and vastly superior form of government for men's benefit...God's Kingdom rule. The simple answer to the question is that Witnesses were sent to Concentration Camps. Unlike every other inmate though, each Witness could walk free by simply signing a statement saying that they would no longer have anything to do with the religion. Very few took this option.
