Apparently, there were three distinct groups of the Jumanos living in three regions of Texas, Old Mexico, and Old Mexico.

The first group lived along the Rio Grande and Rio Concho rivers in West Texas, Old Mexico, and New Mexico.

The second group lived in the Southern Plains of Texas.

The third group lived between the Rio Grande and New Mexico.

The Jumanos were noted for wearing tattoos. The Spanish identified any tattoo Native American were from the Jumano tribe. This caused confusion for the Spanish since other Native Americans living in the region.

The "Plain" Jumano Indians were the only type that were nomadic so obviously the plains.( :

Where they migrated was very close to where they were at.

The Jumano Indians that were nomads were a group of Indians that hunted and didn't have much time to plant fruits and vegatables.
