The Lord credited Abram's [or Abraham's] believing God as righteousness:-
Gen 15:3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
Gen 15:4 And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
Gen 15:5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
Gen 15:6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
Gal 3:6 Even as Abraham believedGod, and it was accounted to him forrighteousness.
Romans:4:3: For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
That would be Abraham, because he believe God and it was credited to him as righteousness. For in the Bible, the book of Genesis Chapter 15 verse 6 we read: Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness. What he believed is found in the verses 4 & 5: Then the word of the LORD came to him: "This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir." He took him outside and said, "Look up at the sky and count the stars-if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be."
Abraham is not a god and Jews do not recognize him as a god. However he is considered a patriarch or father in the respect that he was the father of Isaac and through his seed came Jesus. One popular Bible scripture for Abraham is: James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend.
Although the Bible certainly says that Abraham believed in God, there is nothing in the Bible to say that he believed in just one god.
There is no Scripture in the Bible using the exact word "befriend," but there are Scriptures about friends, such as Proverbs 18:24,"A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." And James 2:23: "And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God." and John 15:14: "And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God."
Romans 4:1-3New King James Version (NKJV)Abraham Justified by Faith4 What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh?[a]2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."
Abraham exists in the bible.
It is believed that Abraham, who is mentioned in the Bible, built the Kaaba. The Kaaba is a building that is a place of worship for all Muslims.
Abraham was blessed by God according to the Bible.
The Israelites are not in a class division. They are what we called monotheism(which means that they believe in only one god.) Most other groups are polytheistic(which means that they believe in more than one god or many gods.) They invented the Hebrew bible. They believed in god as some of do today. The Hebrew bible has 66 books. The very first book is Genisis. Genisis was what started the Hebrew bible. I tall started with one man and his name was Abraham. You see, the Israelites believed that they were descendents from a guy name Abraham. And Abraham only believed in one god and that was god.
No, although the same Abraham is mentioned in many books of the Bible.
Yes. The Jewish Bible is replete with laws, beliefs and exhortations concerning justice and righteousness.
Genesis 15:6 says about Abraham "Then he believed in the LORD; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness." That refers to faith. Joseph specifically is mentioned as well as Daniel. Hebrews 11 is a whole list about the people that exhibited faith.
