While they hunted and fished as well, the Taino were noted as a highly experienced agricultural society; meaning that they had a high understanding of agriculture and grew many things: Yuca, Sweet potato, squash, beans, peppers, peanuts, pineapples, tobacco, calabash (pumpkins), cotton, palm nuts, guava, and zamia.
