Answer
The jongleurs were wandering minstrels who provided entertainment fo the 'nobles' and often performed at town and country fairs, mostly with singing and dancing, and sometimes telling stories. It was often common for the very wealthy to have one permanently in his castle for his own entertainment and celebrations.
